Finally in Mumbai Now..
The trip started to go wrong when a custom Officer started to asked me questions at the Curacao airport.
His face got all excited when he saw how many stamps I had in my passport.. haha
So I don’t know if I look like the average drug smuggler but after the custom officer asked me some questions he took me in for a total search of my belongings.
I guess it did not help that I was covered with tattoos and just traveled in surfer shorts and a singlet/ tanktop. And of course has so many stamps from countries around the world.
Time to get a new passport?? Hmm YES
I tried to explain that I worked as an Electrical Officer on Seismic Survey ships but he just looked funny at me!
So after I had been searched I was free to go, of course. So now my 9 hour flight to Amsterdam could start. I could not sleep during the flight so I was ordering double whiskeys until the bottle ran empty..
While in Amsterdam I saw three police officers waiting at the door to the airplane. But this time it was someone else’s turn. I herded that the Cocaine cost 5 euro per gram in Curacao so they where probably looking for cocaine smugglers..
My connecting flight was rescheduled and had to leave earlier, giving me only 30 minutes to board my new plane towards Mumbai!
This time they had arranged my flight to an American flight company. So I had to go on an US flight. Which is a pain in the ass..
There is a reason that I avoid going to the States.!!! Too many strange rules…
When trying to check in I started to get some questions.. But everyone got asked the same..
But after I told him what I worked with and so on everything was okej until he saw all my stamps. Once again he founded this strange and when to his supervisor..
NOT AGAIN, I was thinking!
But the supervisor said let me go and so I did..
After 2 flights at 9 hours each I was finally in Mumbai. Just to realize that my bag was missing!
Was this because there was to little time between flights or did the customs had a peak in it!! Hmm..
I am told that I should get my bag this evening but this is India…
everything can happen..
Time to go to bed now because tomorrow we have a charted flight to somewhere where the helicopter is going to fly us out to the ship..
Take Care everybody…
Ciao from Mumbai India
